Tips for working with interpreters and translators – Meet Cambridge interview

As I renewed my membership with Meet Cambridge (an official bureau for conference and event venues at the University of Cambridge, Colleges, hotels and other unique properties), to list my Italian translation and interpreting services in their Event Support directory, it reminded me of my interview with the lovely Judith Sloane.

What do you think is the number one most important tip to give your client when it comes to working with a professional interpreter?

Digital detoxing. What’s your take on it?

I’m currently having a few weeks away from work and it’s amazing! There’s nothing quite like spending quality time with friends and family. I’ve also really enjoyed going on day trips, boat trips and power walks to fight the sedentary lifestyle I tend to lead as a translator. During my time off, I’ve discovered something liberating:

In small doses.

My intention was to go on a digital diet (besides on a no carb diet!), but the temptation to grab my phone and read interesting articles shared by colleagues was too hard to resist. On top of that, I read this article and it made me realise I don’t need to go on a digital diet. I just need to maintain a balanced digital diet.
