How can you boost engagement with new and potential clients virtually?
During my career, I’ve been a believer in building relationships, trust and letting my skills and experience speak for themselves.
I’ve been fortunate this approach has reaped some wonderful clients I have formed long-term partnerships with, but this is much easier said than done when presenting you and your brand in person rather than through a screen.
The majority of us were all thrust into a virtual way of working at the same time and took this learning curve together. I believe this may evolve into a more hybrid approach as we exit the pandemic, so here are my tips to make your first virtual impressions count:
1) #Preparation is key – understand your client, sector and do your research thoroughly!
2) Reach out with a gesture of #generosity – don’t jump in straight with your pitch, focus on how your client could benefit from working with you and evidence it during your first call
3) #Cameras on! – It may feel awkward at first, but studies show that calls with cameras on are more likely to lead to follow-ups and generate sales.
